Generating brand awareness with festive video campaign
Crazy Catch is the ultimate rebound net, used in skills development and training across sports including cricket, netball, hockey, football and rugby. The official UK distributor Flicx UK, has secured professional supporting ambassadors in the country, and has established a niche for Crazy Catch within the sports equipment industry as an innovative, fun performance aid.
Crazy Catch wanted to incorporate video as part of their Christmas ‘Tree-mendous’ campaign. With footage already available from brand ambassadors using the rebound net, our job was to make something festive and engaging. They also wanted our help in creating a microsite to host video content, sent in by members of the public, who were entering a competition to win £500.
The goal of the campaign was simple: to drive engagement online over the festive period, to increase brand exposure and increase online sales through Crazy Catch’s network of retailers.
After receiving the footage of sports stars and brand ambassadors, including rugby legend Will Greenwood and England netball player Sasha Corbin, our motion team got to work on making the footage festive.
Using a combination of inventive motion graphics and some festive puns straight from the Christmas cracker, we created a series of ‘Tree-mendous’ videos that were shared on social media platforms by the Crazy Catch UK team. The microsite was designed and created by our web team to facilitate competition entries.
Following the conclusion of the Christmas campaign, Crazy Catch UK received over 25,000 organic views of the ‘Tree-mendous’ campaign videos. The videos, which continue to be viewed on Instagram, Facebook and YouTube, have helped generate unprecedented awareness for the sports equipment brand.
We really enjoyed working with the Katapult team again on our Christmas campaign which is our most important sales period. The quality of the videos was excellent and there was exceptional feedback from retailers and viewers. The Katapult team really added value to the project with the animations and festive puns really bringing the brief to life so overall we were really pleased with the results.
