The team at Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service were referred to us via the Marketing Derby Bondholder scheme, of which they’d recently become a member.
We were approached with a brief to produce a new video to highlight Derbyshire Fires & Rescue’s various services to be used at corporate and educational events and staff training and induction days. Their existing video featured old footage that required updating and since its execution, DFRS have introduced a broader service offer than needed to be communicated to all levels of stakeholders.
Video Production & Motion Graphics
Our video and motion graphics unit K-Motion began by working with DFRS developing a storyboard for the new video, featuring the various services they were keen to promote which included 999 calls, fire fighting response, road safety, water rescue, youth work, prevention and schools education, building protection and the sprinkler campaign.
We then planned a location schedule for where the new filming would take place, which included the various support teams at the Derby HQ, the training annexe, water rescue training in Milford, composite drills and an example of a sprinkler installation. We also used a GoPro camera to capture footage from DCFS fire investigation dog Freckle’s perspective as he sniffed out clues as to the causes of fire incidents.
The film was then edited with the development of an appropriate soundtrack and integrated with various motion graphic statistics about the various successes DFRS have had to date. The video was output to DVD and digital formats for use online and edited into shorter films to be used at specific events eg in training classes.
