Find out more about three of the most dynamic and innovative attraction concepts at IAAPA Orlando this year. In collaboration with leading media-based attractions specialist Simworx, Katapult have developed high-octane dark ride concepts OVERDRIVE and TORCHLIGHT, and midway attraction concept The Ferrari Experience.
Drawing inspiration from popular driving franchises Need for Speed, Grand Theft Auto and Fast and Furious, OVERDRIVE is an IP-free attraction offering a unique take on a fan-favourite narrative. The dueling dark ride experience gives guests the opportunity to be the getaway car or police chaser within the queue lines. Riders then navigate through underground tunnels and construction site scenes at breakneck speeds – with multiple ride endings on offer.
TORCHLIGHT is a gipping, new horror dark ride experience that transports guests to a mysterious woodland, where they are put in charge of finding out what has happened to dozens of missing people. The dark ride’s narrative, concept and guest experience by Katapult, has been developed to coincide with Simworx’s Automated Guided Vehicle technology (AGV). The trackless ride system which is omni-directional, includes a 3 degrees of freedom motion base and vehicle acceleration of up to 2.4 metres per second, offers a unique experience to the market.
The Ferrari Experience
The Ferrari Experience concept is a media-based attraction, featuring immersive simulator rides, an esports adrenalin hub and exclusive themed dining experiences for all the family to enjoy. Plans are also in place for the Ferrari Experience to feature a frictionless, connected experience using state of the art guest experience technology.
