We were delighted to work alongside Merlin Entertainments to enhance the themed dining experience of their LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Coffee Shops worldwide in 2019.
The brief was to inject warmth, fun and LEGO® humour into the coffee shops, helping to connect the cafe to the whole guest experience and maintain the magic. This needed to be brought together by a strong narrative, feature popular LEGO Minifigures and be adaptable in preparation for a global roll-out of the assets.
Through narrative sessions and concept development, we created the theme of ‘Minifigure Madness’ – a theme that saw LEGO Minifigures ‘takeover’ the kitchen, the menu and the point-of-sale designs throughout the coffee shop.
Wall decals provide humour and immersive theming for kids and adults to enjoy.
Point-of-sale designs are factful yet embody the unique and fun LEGO brand.
Living posters bring an immersive dimension to the coffee shop decor.
Perishables such as chef hats and stickers were also created to keep kids entertained.
Following a successful launch of the Coffee Shop in Michigan, US, the designs have since been rolled-out to other LEGOLAND Discovery Centre Coffee Shops worldwide.
We have also worked with LEGOLAND Discovery Centres worldwide to create event kits that launched simultaneously for popular LEGO® IPs; including LEGO City, Ninjago and Friends. Read more on our other case study.
