Katapult’s 2020 Helping Hands Project brings joy to children at UK Primary School

Themed attraction and experience design company, Katapult, has completed the refurbishment of a new playground at Findern School in Derbyshire. The playground experience now features a climbing frame, multi-sensory garden, creativity stations and breakout areas for reading.

Findern School were chosen as the winners of Katapult’s Helping Hands competition 2020, an initiative set-up to support charities and communities in creating new experiences.

As part of the project, Katapult dedicated £10,000 of expertise which included masterplanning, concept and design development, 3D design visuals and executive production to assist in the installation of the playground experience. The newly-designed playground has been installed over the summer and is open to pupils, parents and teachers from their first term of the year.

“We are incredibly proud of our reimagined play area and we cannot wait to see our pupils enjoy it everyday too. The playground now has an abundance of fun and gives the children a space to be more creative, curious and compassionate to the natural world.”

Katapult’s CEO & Co-Founder, Dawn Foote, added: “We were delighted to work with Findern School as part of this year’s Helping Hands project. Happy memories are made on great playgrounds and we feel the mix of physical, creative and tranquil spaces will give all pupils their own little moments of joy.”

The Helping Hands initiative was launched by Katapult in 2018 and has since provided support to UNESCO World Heritage Site, Cromford Mills, and the National Food Museum in East Anglia.
