Creating immersive IP Attractions for clients around the world

Here at Katapult, we continue to be relied upon by the largest IPs in the leisure and attractions industry, to create immersive experiences and maintain high standards of creative guardianship. From full-scale family entertainment centres, to memory capture areas, we have designed it all. Here’s just a few examples.

LEGO

We were thrilled to work with 19 of LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre sites worldwide on a new events kit project. From concept development and design, right through to production and delivery, we created event kits that launched simultaneously for popular LEGO® IPs; including LEGO City, Ninjago and Friends.

We created a combination of challenges and immersive experiences to keep both children, and adults alike, entertained.

We made creative tables for guests to make and proudly display their LEGO® masterpieces, encouraged guests to make their own stop motion LEGO® video and even allowed guests to design a vehicle, capable of making it down a daring zip line.

Cartoon Network

As an approved Cartoon Network design partner, we were approached by Kuwait-based entertainment company, Future Kid, to redesign and redevelop one of their themed family entertainment centres in a multi-million dollar investment project. The 3,000 sq. metre venue also required our expertise in developing a dark ride attraction for thousands of guests to enjoy every year.

While the project remains under construction, we have already started work on integrating the Cartoon Network brand, alongside five popular IPs, into the FEC. These IPs include the Powerpuff Girls, We Bare Bears, Adventure Time, The Amazing World of Gumball and Ben 10.

BBC

We worked alongside the BBC, Merlin Entertainment and photography experts Picsolve, to install a photo-studio in CBeebies Land, based at UK-theme park, Alton Towers. We created an immersive and engaging memory capture area that included talking screens, narrated by presenters from CBeebies, to improve the guest experience.

We worked with the BBC’s most-loved children’s IPs, including In The Night Garden, Mr Tumble, Postman Pat and Mr Bloom, to create customisable photo opportunities based on the guest’s favourite show.

Merlin Entertainments

As an approved supplier, we have a longstanding relationship with Merlin Entertainments and have been fortunate to work on various projects for their extensive IP and brand portfolio. This includes recently creating a new, educational and immersive experience at SEA LIFE London Aquarium.

We have also worked with their other attractions LEGOLAND Discovery Centres, The Dungeons, CBeebies Land at Alton Towers, Madame Tussauds and many more over the years.

Mattel

We worked closely with UK theme park, Drayton Manor and Thomas & Friends IP owners, Mattel, to create a kid-centric, immersive retail guest experience. We began by creating a considered guest flow map that highlighted all the key touchpoints throughout the experience.

This project also featured an interactive themed video experience, which we created using Green Screen (GSX) technology. The experience featured video content, themed backdrops and interactive elements which when put together, created a fun, interactive experience for young visitors and a unique and personalised souvenir to take home.

Entertainment One

We worked alongside IP owner, Entertainment One, and photography specialists Picsolve, to create an immersive Peppa Pig memory capture area at UK-based theme park, Paulton’s Park. The purpose was to improve the guest experience and develop a photo product that would appeal to park guests.

We came up with a range of concepts incorporating green-screen technology, including an area that would give guests the opportunity to interactive with lead IP characters, George and Peppa. Paultons Park saw an upsurge in their conversion rates following the installation of the Peppa Pig memory capture area.

IPs and Operators

As well as collaborating with IPs at the inception stage to create visions for new experiences, we also work alongside theme park and attraction operators to integrate IP experiences into their existing site.

Whether you’re looking to create or integrate new immersive experiences with IP, get in touch with us today to discuss how we can make your project a reality.
