University of Derby
The University of Derby aims to be the learner’s first choice University for quality and opportunity. We’ve been working with the university on various campaigns over the years, developing messaging and communications materials targeted at current and prospective students.
Skill Builder Campaign
The University of Derby Career Development Centre have developed the Skill Builder brand to promote activities outside the curriculum that improve students’ employability. Beyond the Skill Builder campaign, the brand is used on promotional materials for such activities to identify them as ones that can improve employability. We were appointed to produce the campaign to launch the Skill Builder brand and communicate its role.
The concept was executed across a variety of marketing materials to drive awareness of the brand amongst students including flyers, website updates, social media, e-flyers, banners, pop-up stands, stickers and pens. A large scale interactive puzzle was also produced to promote the Skill Builder campaign at University open days.
The University’s 2010, 2011 and 2012 Feedback campaigns were run in conjunction with the National Student Survey to make sure all students have their chance to share their views about life at the University of Derby.
We developed launch materials for the campaigns including posters, web banners, t-shirts and stickers as well as promotional materials to be used at University road shows.
We were appointed by the University of Derby to develop their Clearing campaign for the September 2012 and January 2013 intakes including developing messaging and media coverage.
The many benefits of studying at the University were packaged in the ‘So many reasons to choose’ concept with the campaign running across a wide range of channels including TV, press, digital, ambient and outdoor.
In an incredibly competitive market, the campaign made a significant contribution to driving attendance at open days and applications which was reflected in its nomination for a Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Excellence Award.
